"The community of believers was of one heart and mind..."
Acts 4:32
This passage always makes me giggle to myself; I'm pretty sure this was the LAST time a group of Christians was of the same heart and mind! Anyone who has attended a Catholic school PTA meeting when uniforms are discussed knows that a group of Christians all of the same mind is rare indeed. But giggling aside, we Christians aren't always of the same mind and heart and is that OK? Saints Peter and Paul didn't even get along all the time! Sometimes we need to get down to the very basis of our mutual faith...we love Jesus. Some of us celebrate that love as Catholics, others as Methodists, Evangelicals, Lutherans...but the bottom line is we love Jesus. And Jesus loves us, so much we will never understand it. Jesus wanted us all one and we can all be one, in love with him. We can show Jesus that one-ness by appreciating each other and the common bond we share in Jesus without criticizing or judging each other. We are all sinners in love with Jesus. And that is a beautiful thing! Today, let's put aside any differences we have with the large, world-wide community of Christians and let's be of one heart and mind...loving our Jesus! Love, heidi
